Beauty is a rescue. I found her with a family that had her for at least 3 yrs and never groomed her. She is a cocker and needs to be groomed on a regular basis. Sadly her back legs were matted together. To this day she still runs funny. Kinda with her back legs to the side because of this. She is a sweet thing and enjoys going everywhere with me. I'm hoping to have her therapy trained soon. Crossing fingers...

We adopted our first dog, Ella from PAWS Chicago in October 2011. She was so quiet and sweet. Little did we know she had pneumonia. We nursed her back to to health and got an entirely different puppy than we met that first day. She is the sweetest, friendliest, and most spunky puppy! We're so glad she's part of our life...which just goes to show you that you have to trust your gut and find a puppy that speaks to you! I couldn't imagine any other puppy than our dachshund-mix Ella sharing our life with us!..

I never really knew how smart guinea pigs are, and that they can actually have you wrapped around their little finger by their cute demands. We adopted two guinea pigs, mother and daughter of 1 and 3 years old in October of 2011. After buying a house, we wanted to get a pet, and decided against getting a dog for now. Instead, we are proud parents of two loveable guinea pigs, Harmony and Melody. Hey, you don’t have to walk them at all hours of the day or evening!
Our two adorable piggies have out smarted us in a lot of funny but very cute ways. They know our schedules for eating, and by this what amazes me is that they know of the exact “timing” of different hours fo..

It is now 3 years since our dog, Nakomi featured here, has passed away and it has been difficult to be without her as most animal lovers know. She was a chow chow mix. We adopted her from what was Table Mountain Animal shelter about 15 years ago when this beautiful canine was 1-2 years old. She had no ID, so we had to name her. She looked sort of bear-like in a way so we named her after the cartoon of the bear cubs in Santa & the 3 Bears, Chinook & Nakomi. She was the sweetest dog and family member to my husband, daughter and I. Nakomi was a free spirit--she could escape most fencing, so never a dull moment! We miss her so much. I do pastel memorial pet portraits as a way to cherish ..

Roxanne is a red nose pitt bull. Wait, before any one starts to have any doubts on reading this and going forward because you heard the word pitt bull, reconsider. Pitts are dogs too, just like german shepards, great danes, etc. They have a bad name because of the people out there that take the dog's strong nature into extremes of fighting and abuse. These dogs are loyal, one of the most loyal dogs there will ever be, and caring. They love and when they love they love deep. Pitts are great dogs until they have been with an abuser or neglected or fought. Give these dogs a chance. I did and now I have Roxanne my mircale dog. I rescued her from an abuser and now she is the most loyal dog to..

Sheba is 23. She came to my home when she was 15. Her owners no longer wanted her and left her at the vet office to be put down. One of my friends mother brought her home. Sadly for them the other cats hated Sheba. My friend begged me to take her and I did. Sheba is old but in better shape than a lot of 10 yr old cats. She is very well loved...

His face was shoved in the web cam at the Dumb Friends League and we had to meet him. It was hard to find him though once we were there. He was so sad, curled in a little ball, hidden from view. The volunteers helped us and when we met for the first time-- he curled up in my lap-- all 60 poounds of him. His spine was showing, ear stitiched, back stitched-- but those love bug eyes. It was love at first site. We found out he had been passed from shelter to shelter and this had been his last hope. Six years later we love him as much today as then. The scars are gone-- and his spine no longer sits out. We spoil him with attention and he snuggles right back. Thank you whoever put him in our lives..
